Tropics and Whatnot
Let's start with the whatnot: last night's annular eclipse of the sun. Only a tiny part was visible here...and in order to see that you had to be at the shoreline with the right equipment. Lucky for you Lee Ann McCrarey was all of those things, and took a great picture that's on WKRG's Facebook page.
Tropical Storm Alberto formed in the Atlantic over the weekend. It's a minimal tropical storm off the coast of Georgia and the Carolinas. Watches for the east coast were dropped, though, because Alberto appears to be headed out to sea. Still, it's a reminder that the tropical season is upon us. Check out the Weather Education section of WKRG.com for preparation tips.
Finally, let's look at our own weather. To put it bluntly: more of the same. Mostly sunny mornings become partly cloudy during the afternoons today, tomorrow, and Wednesday with highs in the upper 80s and lows in the mid 60s each day. A skimpy 20% chance of showers will blow in each afternoon on the sea breeze.
Even those few showers may go away for Thursday through Sunday. Sunny skies and highs in the low 90s will make it feel more like summer.
