Threat of Severe Thunderstorms Tonight

A storm system is approaching from the west tonight, and this will set off scattered showers and thunderstorms tonight.

Some of these storms could be strong severe.  These storms could produce large hail and damaging winds.  The main time frame will be from 2pm until 11pm, so some strong storms could definitely continue past sunset.

For tonight, expect scattered showers and thunderstorms.  Otherwise, we will have mostly cloudy skies with lows in the upper 60s to the lower 70s.

On Wednesday, we will begin with a lot of sunshine.  But again later in the day, we could see some showers and thunderstorms.  With south winds, it will be a very warm day with highs reaching the mid 80s at the coast and the upper 80s to around 90 for inland areas.

On Thursday, there will still be a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms.  Highs will again reach the mid 80s at the coast and the upper 80s to around 90 for inland areas.

On Friday and throughout the holiday weekend, it looks dry and rather hot.  It is the Memorial Day Heat Wave.  Highs will top out near 90 each day, but with the humidity...it could feel even hotter.
